Do you want to create a DVD or Blu-ray, but don't have any technical know how? Cyberlink PowerProducer 5 is designed especially for you, and anyone who wants to use their DV/HDV camcorders to create their own movies on disc.
PowerProducer covers most of the things the average user will want to do with DVD creation. As well as simple copying, and burning of disc images, you can also author a DVD, complete with menu and background music. The menu templates in the application are a bit dull, but you can create your own outside PowerProducer and import them
The production process is step by step and easy to follow, and many of the buttons feature little icons with explanations of what the buttons do. It's ideal for beginners because of this. It's certainly not a professional suite, but is great for quickly creating DVDs and Blu-rays you can share with friends and family.
While PowerProducer is easy to use, it can seem inflexible at times, and the lack of pre-made templates seems mean. The two menu pictures included are awful (unless you're doing a wedding DVD!), as is the provided menu music!
Despite these criticisms, PowerProducer is a very easy program to use, and will have you creating basic DVDs in no time.
